BLOX’s mission is to transform the building industry by creating a replicable, modular and sustainable building production system which re-conceptualizes buildings as a collection of finished, highly crafted, highly sustainable and affordable “blox” of modular space manufactured in a factory and assembled rather than built on-site. BLOX’s objective is to deliver cutting edge, LEED- Certified buildings with twice the energy efficiency, in half the time, for costs similar to, or the same as non-sustainable, traditional construction.

Blox will reduce construction time and embodied energy by 50% and construction waste by 90%, allowing the creation of cutting edge, energy efficient buildings at the same cost as traditional construction.

Model: With the combination of Onion Flats’ award winning development, architectural and construction experience and Landmark Building Systems’ 30 years of manufactured building experience, BLOX will become a ‘turn-key,’ one-stop-shop for developer’s and institutions’ building needs.

Founders: BLOX is a joint venture partnership between Philadelphia based developer/architect/builder Onion Flats and Landmark Building Systems, a steel and concrete modular building manufacturer in Pottstown, Pa.  The principals of Onion Flats are Timothy McDonald, Patrick McDonald, Johnny McDonald and Howard Steinberg.  The founder of Landmark Building Systems is Ken George Sr.
