Math Foundations, LLC is an education company whose mission is to provide innovative math remediation solutions to two and four-year colleges and job training programs. The company was founded by Angela McIver, Ph.D. in response to the lack of assessments, interventions and professional development to effectively remediate students who leave school with weak math foundations. With 1.3 million students enrolled in remedial courses each year, Math Foundations believes that innovative interventions can help keep these students in school and positively impact the quality of students entering the workforce.

Model: Primary market for the AFMU product is US community colleges and the $2.5 billion they spend each year retaining their 11.5 million students.

Founder: Angela McIver has a background as an urban educator and curriculum consultant and recently earned a Ph.D. from Penn’s Graduate School of Education. She has partnered with William Jenkins, who holds a Master’s in Computer Science and has served as a senior software engineer with L-3, Lockheed Martin and Comverse.
